Does Arrivo replace Register with a GP surgery?

No. The 2026/27 GP contract requires every registration in England to go through NHS England's service.4 Arrivo receives the registrations that service sends to your practice, and handles the record work after registration.

What happens to registrations NHS England auto-registers?

They go straight into your clinical system and we don't charge for them. Arrivo still picks up the record work when their GP2GP record arrives.

Do patients need NHS login, ID or proof of address?

No. Patients in England don't need ID, proof of address, immigration status or an NHS number to register with a GP. Arrivo registers patients with or without NHS login and never asks them for documents.

What happens when Arrivo can't register someone?

The application goes to the exceptions queue in the Hub with the reason, such as no PDS match or a possible duplicate. Nothing is written to your clinical system until the checks pass or a person approves it.

Can Arrivo request records from the patient's previous practice?

No supplier can. GP2GP requests the record automatically when your clinical system registers the patient. Arrivo tracks it, handles what follows, and chases records GP2GP can't move.

Does Arrivo replace our summarisers?

No. It prepares and prioritises their work, files the degrades your rules cover, and lays out the coded history to check. Your summarisers and clinicians make every clinical decision.

Which clinical systems do you support?

SystmOne and EMIS Web. Medicus is on our roadmap.

How do we get started?

We agree the paperwork, you set your rules, we connect Register with a GP surgery to Arrivo with your consent, and you run a shadow week, approving each registration before switching on automatic registration. See the steps.

Is Arrivo a medical device?

Arrivo doesn't diagnose or recommend treatment. People make the clinical decisions: clinicians set the results filing rules, trained staff approve codes, prescribers sign prescriptions and a person signs off every summary. Our assessment of results filing, letter coding and prescription checks against MHRA guidance on software as a medical device is in the assurance pack.

Where is data held, and who controls it?

Your practice stays the data controller. Arrivo acts as your processor under a data processing agreement, and practice data is stored and processed in the UK.

Can we start with one module?

Yes. Many practices start with registrations or results and add more later. Pay per task for the modules you use, or move to Complete for every module at one price per patient. See pricing.

What does the free offer cover?

The £1.90 fee for the first 200 registrations Arrivo completes for each practice on the per-task plan. NHS auto-registrations are always free and don't count towards the 200, and Complete already includes every registration.

Does Arrivo file abnormal results?

No. It files only the results your clinicians' rules say can be filed. Anything abnormal, borderline, changed sharply or commented on by the lab goes to a clinician, and a clinician checks a sample of filed results every week.

Does Arrivo sign or issue prescriptions?

No. It matches and checks repeat requests and groups them for the prescriber. A prescriber signs every prescription in your clinical system.

How do we know the letter codes are right?

Every suggested code is shown with the sentence it came from, and a trained member of your team approves it before it reaches the record. Insights shows how often suggestions are changed.

Can Arrivo stop patients being removed from our list?

It can't stop national list validation, but it makes sure you reply on time with evidence for every genuine patient, and helps anyone removed in error re-register quickly.

How do we pay, and can an ICB or PCN fund it?

Monthly, by invoice or Direct Debit. ICBs and PCNs can buy for a group of practices on one contract. See pricing.
