Results

Normal results filed. Everything else with the right clinician.

Lab results are one of the biggest daily jobs in a practice's inbox: the average GP was estimated to spend 1.5 to 2 hours a day on them.6 Arrivo files the normal ones by rules your clinicians set, tells patients, and puts every other result in front of the right person with the history they need.

Filing rules

Rules your clinicians set, and can change at any time

Your clinicians decide which results can be filed without them, test by test, with limits by age group and recorded condition. Before filing, Arrivo also checks the patient's previous results and any comment from the lab, so a normal value that has changed sharply still reaches a clinician.

  • Rules by test, age group and recorded condition
  • Results with a lab comment always go to a person
  • Sharp changes from previous results sent for review
  • Every rule change logged with who made it

Patient messages

Patients told when their results are normal

When Arrivo files a result as normal, it texts the patient in your words, so they don't need to call to ask. Results that need a conversation are never messaged automatically.

  • Your wording, sent from your practice name
  • Only for results filed as normal
  • Fewer calls to reception asking about results

Clinician review

Every other result with the right clinician

Abnormal and borderline results go to the clinician who asked for the test, or to the duty doctor if they're away, with the most urgent first. Each one arrives with the patient's previous values and current medicines, so the decision takes seconds.

  • Urgent results flagged and shown first
  • Routed to the requesting clinician, or the duty doctor if they're away
  • Previous values and current medicines alongside

Safety net

Nothing left unfiled, and a weekly check by a clinician

Each day Arrivo checks that every result received has been filed or is with someone, and flags any it couldn't match to a patient. Each week it picks a sample of automatically filed results for a clinician to check, so you can see the rules working.

  • A daily count of results received, filed and waiting
  • Unmatched results flagged the same day
  • A weekly sample for clinical audit
Arrivo only files what your clinicians have agreed it can.

Your clinical lead approves the filing rules, and you can switch automatic filing off at any time. Our clinical safety case sets out how each rule is controlled.
